3rd Annual Dahlonega Wine Trail

Welcome to “The Heart of Georgia Wine Country”. Following the success of the late summer / pre-harvest 2013 DWT last August, the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber & Visitors Bureau, along with Dahlonega’s five unique wineries, will host the 3rd Annual “Dahlonega Wine Trail” (DWT) weekend passport event. The DWT experience will begin Saturday, August 16th at 12:00pm Noon – 5:00 pm and continue Sunday, August 17th from 12:30 pm until 5:00 pm. Wine enthusiasts can enjoy weekend-long festivities at Dahlonega’s award-winning wineries and beautiful vineyards as well as the always relaxing visit to Dahlonega and Lumpkin County’s destination amenities and attractions.

Dahlonega Wine TrailDahlonega Wine Trail event passports are only $30 per person including a Souvenir Glass (for the first 1,200 people). Your passport is good for the weekend of August 16 & 17 for one visit to each winery. Ticket stubs in the passport are redeemable at each winery for free tastings. Many local tasting rooms in downtown Dahlonega are also offering specials for passport holders.

Passports are available, and wine trail patrons are encouraged to begin the trail event, at the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Visitors Center in downtown Dahlonega (13 South Park Street, Dahlonega, GA 30533) – come get your passport to the wine trail with maps, visitor guides, and other helpful information.

Suwanee Wine Fest 2013

Suwanee Wine Fest 2013You still have time to grab your tickets to the Suwanee Wine Fest, for this Saturday, October 5th, in Town Center Park.

Over 250 wines represented from all over the world, including several local Georgia wineries.

All ticket-holders will receive a commemorative tasting glass and can enjoy unlimited 1oz wine samples from 1-5pm. The Fresh Market will provide complimentary food samples of cheese, crackers, fruit and light appetizers. Other food options will also be available for purchase.

VIP ticketholders will enjoy all the benefits of General Admission access, plus catered food, higher-end wine samples, wine education, a goody bag and private dining/ tasting tent.

Yonah Mountain Vineyards Expansion

Yonah Mountain Vineyards officially announces the Grand Opening of our expanded facility located in Cleveland, Georgia. What started with a 2,200 square foot winery in 2006 will be expanded to a 30,000 square foot tasting room and event facility allowing our guests to fully experience the beauty of the nearly 200 acre vineyard located at the base of iconic Yonah Mountain.

Phase One of the expansion, opening Saturday March 8, 2014, features an expanded winery, the addition of a second wine cave, and the new octagonal tasting room. “We believe our new tasting room and facility creates a true destination for our guests,” said Bob Miller, Owner of Yonah Mountain Vineyards. “We want our guests to feel like part of our family and share in our passion for wine.”

Phase Two, opening mid-summer 2014, features a 10,000 square foot event pavilion. “Our new event pavilion allows us to host meetings, social events, and weddings,” said Eric Miller, General Manager. “Taking advantage of our beautiful view while offering our guests high quality wine, makes for very special programs and events.”

The Grand Opening Ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014. Special wine releases, tastings, and tours are planned throughout the weekend.

Spring Wine Highway Weekend

Georgia Wine Highway WeekendThe Winegrowers Association of Georgia is excited to announce a new format for the 2014 Wine Highway Weekend which will take place over 2 separate weekends, March 22 & 23 and the weekend of March 29 & 30, 2014! Each year this event has grown in popularity as more people have discovered the National and International Award Winning Fine Wines that are made right here in Georgia, from Georgia Grown Grapes.

Come and discover the superb wines, outstanding experience our wineries have to offer, and the hospitality our Affiliate members offer in the way of lodging, restaurants, and shopping!

We have grown the event with your participation to the point where trying to fit the event into one weekend for so many has been a challenge. This format will allow you to plan your visits over a period of two weekends in order to make your Wine Highway experience relaxing and the best it can be.

We have already added many new wineries to the organization and know more are planning to join prior to the event!

The cost is $30.00 per person, which includes a souvenir glass, and your passport to all 14 participating wineries, Montaluce Winery, Cavender Creek Vineyards, The Cottage Vineyards & Winery, Serenity Cellars, Habersham Winery, Sautee Nacoochee Vineyards, Yonah Mountain Vineyards, Tiger Mountain Vineyards, 12 Spies Vineyards, Hightower Creek Vineyards, Crane Creek Vineyards, Serenberry Vineyards, Cartecay Vineyards, and Sharp Mountain Vineyards.

Georgia Wines 2014 Spring Wine Fest

The Georgia Winery of Ringgold has announced their partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area for their 2014 Spring Wine Fest! Georgia Winery’s first ever Spring Wine Fest is May 10th. The winery invites attendees to spend the day sipping fine wines from local wineries in the company of good friends. This fun Saturday event is sure to help you shake off the winter doldrums. Not just for wine lovers, the evening will also feature breweries. Live music by Amber Fults and The Power Players Show Band will help to set the tone for a fun afternoon that you won’t soon forget. There will also be a wine class at 3:00 pm. The festival – located in Ringgold, Ga – goes on rain or shine on May 10th, 2014. In addition to handcrafted Georgia wines there will also be delicious food from The Muenster Truck. This event is open to anyone aged 21 years and over. $5 from each ticket will be donated to Habitat for Humanity!

This event is taking place of the Georgia Winery’s Mother’s Day Sale. There will be no 25% off case discount this year. The Georgia Winery encourages their guest to join the Wine Club and receive 20% of cases all year long! When you sign up for the Wine Club at the Spring Wine Fest, you will receive a free t-shirt!

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area is a locally organized and governed nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization that has been building simple, decent and affordable homes in Chattanooga, Tennessee, since 1986. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area partners with volunteers and low income families to build affordable housing. The houses are sold to these families at no profit and with no interest. The Georgia Wine Country Festival

Dahlonega’s Original Wine Festival returns for the 13th Year in 2014 with free General Admission. A Wine Garden featuring guest Georgia Wineries from around the state will be presented for a fee inside the festival. Georgia BBQ by Rib Country and Bonelick BBQ, Georgia wine, and Georgia beer will also be available to purchase. Music during the weekends includes the Polite Jazz and Standards of Tommy Dean and Mike Ewbank AKA Moose & Squirrel, Old Time, Americana and Bluegrass of The Buzzard Mountain Boys, The Mossy Creek Gypsies, Jefferson Ross and more. Annual Spring Wine Highway Weekend

Winegrowers Association of GeorgiaThe Winegrowers Association of Georgia is holding their Annual Spring Wine Highway Weekend on March 21st & 22nd, and March 28th & 29th. This year will be their biggest event with 18 members who will participate. If you have not participated before, you pay your admission fee ($40.00/person) at any of the participating wineries where you will receive a souvenir glass, and Passport that you will take to each winery you visit. Your admission allows you access to the participating wineries over both weekends so you can take your time and enjoy the experience. Check out their Wine Map to plan your trip.
