Established in 1983, the Georgia Winery is the first of its kind in Georgia and is the only winery in the North Georgia and Chattanooga area. In the 1950’s, Jacob Paulk began farming just as his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather did. As cotton was on the decline in the 70’s, Jacob decided to plant his first muscadine grape vine. Little did he know that six generations after the Paulk family began farming the very same land, Paulk Vineyards would be instrumental in developing the commercial muscadine grape market and a pioneer in developing muscadine grape dietary supplements, a powerhouse of health benefits! Today, because of many blessings and years of hard work, Paulk Vineyards is the largest grower of muscadine grapes in the world. Jacob, along with two of his four sons, Gary and J.W., Jr., and Gary’s son, Chris, who manages the value-added focus of the business, make up three generations of the Paulk family that are currently involved in the operation.

Frogtown Cellars

Frogtown Cellars is a 57 acre wine estate located at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains equal distance between Dahlonega and Cleveland Georgia. Frogtown encompasses 40 acres of vineyards and a tri-level gravity flow winery specifically designed to produce the unique wines made from Frogtown grapes. In 1998, native Atlantans Craig and Cydney Kritzer founded Frogtown in a location carefully selected for quality wine grape production and outstanding mountain views, the Frogtown District of Lumpkin County, Georgia. After researching Frogtowns soil, diverse climates and terrain, Craig divided the land up into separate vineyards. He planted different wine grape varieties based on the characteristics of each vineyard site. Frogtown is now home to 40 acres of vineyards planted to 17 different wine grapes varieties, both red and white. Frogtown Cellars produces wines under the ‘Frogtown’ label, ‘Thirteenth Colony’ label and ‘Talking Rock’ label. The Kritzer family invites you to come and relax on our deck with a glass of our wine and enjoy the views overlooking our vineyards, lake and the North Georgia Mountains.
